This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and how you can control it. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Last updated: 1 October 2026What happens to your details from the moment you contact us.
MotorShieldExperts respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, request a quote, book a service or buy a protection plan, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies together with our Terms & Conditions.
We believe you should be able to understand what happens to your details without reading pages of legal language. That is why this policy is written in plain terms and divided into short sections. Where a section needs more detail, we have tried to give real examples of what we do rather than general statements.
By using our website or services you confirm that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not submit your details to us. We handle personal data in line with the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, to the extent it applies to us.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "MotorShieldExperts" mean the business that provides vehicle protection and care services under this name, and "you" means any person who visits our website, contacts us or uses our services.
We collect only what we need to quote, schedule and carry out your work. This depends on how you deal with us. It may include your contact details (name, phone number, email address and, where needed for invoicing, your address) and your vehicle details (make, model, colour, year, registration number and the condition of the vehicle recorded at inspection).
We also keep service and payment records, such as the services you chose, quotes, invoices, warranty and plan numbers, and payment references. We do not store full card details. Payments are processed by our payment providers and banks, and we only keep the reference we need to match a payment to your invoice.
We take photographs of your vehicle before, during and after the work, and we keep the messages you send through our contact form, phone, email or messaging apps. These records help us show the condition in which your vehicle arrived, the work we carried out, and what you asked us to do.
When you visit our website we also collect basic technical data such as your browser, device and the pages you visit. Most of the information we hold comes directly from you. Sometimes it comes from someone you have authorised, such as a family member or fleet manager who books a service on your behalf.
We use your information only for the purposes below and not for anything unrelated to them. These are preparing quotes, confirming bookings and carrying out the services you have asked for; issuing invoices, receipts, Workmanship Warranties and plan documents; and handling warranty and roadside claims.
We also use it to contact you about your appointment, collection, aftercare and service reminders, and to answer your questions and resolve complaints. For example, we may call you to confirm a time, message you when your vehicle is ready, or follow up after the work to check that you are happy with the result.
We send offers and updates only where you have agreed to receive them, and you can change your mind at any time. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Finally, we use it to keep our website secure, to prevent misuse or fraud, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose that is not covered here, we will tell you first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with people who need it to deliver our services to you, and only to the extent they need it. These are our own staff and certified installers, product manufacturers (for warranty registration), and payment providers and banks that process your payments. They also include roadside assistance and towing partners where you hold a plan, and professional advisers, auditors and, where the law requires it, courts, police and government authorities.
Within our own team, access is limited by role. An installer, for instance, sees what is needed to complete your job, while accounts staff see what is needed to issue your invoice. Product manufacturers receive only the details required to register your warranty, such as the product, the vehicle and the date of work.
Where we use a service provider, we expect them to protect your information and to use it only for the task we give them. We do not allow them to use your details for their own marketing. Some of our providers may store or process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we expect them to apply a comparable level of care.
If our business is ever sold, merged or restructured, your information may be transferred to the new owner so that your warranty and plan continue to be honoured. They would be required to treat it in line with this policy.
We keep your information for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, including the life of any warranty or plan you hold with us, and for as long as the law requires us to keep invoices and accounting records. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
In practice, this means your service history, warranty and plan documents are kept while your cover is active so that we can verify and honour any claim. Invoices and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law, even if your warranty has ended.
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are normally deleted within a reasonable period unless you ask us to keep in touch. Photographs taken for inspection records are kept with your service file, while images used in our portfolio are kept only for as long as you have allowed us to use them.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we have a legal reason or an active warranty that requires us to keep part of it. In that case we will tell you what we are keeping and why, and we will delete it once that reason no longer applies.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as limiting access to staff who need it, keeping records in secured systems and protecting our devices and accounts. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our measures include using passwords on our devices and accounts, keeping our software up to date, and storing paper records such as job cards and invoices in a place that is not open to the public. We ask our staff and installers to keep customer details confidential and to use them only for work they are assigned.
You can help too. Please avoid sending sensitive details, such as full card numbers or passwords, through email or messaging apps, and let us know straight away if you think someone has accessed your information without permission.
If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we will take steps to contain it and will inform you and the relevant authority where the law requires.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to make pages load properly, remember simple preferences and understand how the site is used. Fonts, scripts and icons on our pages are loaded from third-party services, which may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests them.
The technical data we see is basic and is used to keep the website working and secure and to understand which pages are useful. It helps us fix errors, improve the layout on different devices and see which services people look at most. We do not use it to identify you personally unless you also contact us through the site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work as intended if you do so. Our website may link to other websites, such as social media pages, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the policy of any site you visit from our pages.
You have control over your personal information. Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, and to correct information that is wrong or incomplete. You may also ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a legal reason or an active warranty. You may withdraw a consent you gave earlier, such as consent for marketing or for using photographs, and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did with your information before you withdrew it. It also does not stop us from using information we need to keep to honour your warranty or to meet a legal duty. If we cannot fully act on a request, we will explain why.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that your information is not given to or changed by someone else. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, and we do not charge a fee for ordinary requests.
We send offers, reminders and updates by phone, SMS, email or messaging apps only where you have agreed to receive them. You can stop at any time by using the opt-out in the message or by telling us directly. Opting out of marketing does not affect service messages that we need to send about your booking, warranty or plan.
Marketing messages may tell you about seasonal offers, new protection services, or reminders that your vehicle is due for aftercare. We keep these occasional and relevant, and we do not share your contact details with other businesses so that they can market to you.
Once you opt out, we will stop sending marketing messages as soon as we reasonably can. If you later change your mind, you can ask us to start again at any time.
We photograph your vehicle for inspection records and to document the quality of our work. These photographs are part of your service file. They show the condition of the vehicle when it arrived and when it left, and they help us deal fairly with any question about the work.
With your permission, we may also use images in our portfolio, on our website or on social media. We take care not to show number plates, faces or other personal details where we can, and you can ask us at any time not to feature your vehicle. Giving permission is your choice, and our services do not depend on it.
If you withdraw permission, we will stop using the images from that point. We will remove them from our website and our own social media pages where we control them, but we cannot always remove copies that others have already saved or shared.
Our services are meant for vehicle owners and adults authorised to book work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.
If a vehicle is owned by or registered in the name of a minor, the booking and any related consent should be given by a parent or legal guardian. Where we learn that we have collected a child's information without that consent, we will take reasonable steps to remove it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology or the law. The latest version is always on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
Depending on the change, we may notify you by email, by message or by a notice on our website. Small edits, such as fixing a typing mistake or making a sentence clearer, will not be announced separately.
We suggest that you check this page now and then. If you keep using our website or services after a change takes effect, we will treat that as your acceptance of the updated policy, unless the law requires us to ask for your consent again.
If you have questions about this policy, want to use any of your rights, or wish to raise a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us. We would like the chance to put things right first. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the relevant authority under applicable Indian law.
When you write to us, please tell us your name, the phone number or email you used with us, and what you would like us to do. This helps us find your records quickly and confirm that the request really comes from you. We will acknowledge your request and keep you informed if it needs more time.
